Makeup Look #13 : Fall Winter 2014 Dark Lips

So off from my beauty haul reviews, i’m presenting to you all my first Fall Winter look for this year -dark lips. I have always loved the ox blood, deep burgundy/bordeaux color thats in the runways for FW this year. I do recommend to go by level of darkeness before you completely decide which level you should go for. Here’s a few products I did review and I recommend that you should try:

• NYX lip liner in Auburn/ Cabernet – deep berry red but is subtle
• Barry M Moisturizing Lip Paint in Black Cherry 106 – dark berry red in semi glossy finish
• Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry – very dark purple-ish red in semi glossy finish
• MAC Pro Lipstick Matte in Sin – deep burgundy red/ dark blue red in matte finish

I have the first three lip products and im still in search for MAC Sin because blue under tones works best for me in red lipsticks ( I do have the Russian Red which im so in love with). But one thing to take note is to prep your lips, moisturize them! Because dark lip colors will drain your lips and having flaky lips dont look so nice when youre wearing dark lipsticks. Also, do apply a lipliner all over, then fill in your lips before your lipstick so it stays longer and so it wont leak around your mouth!

This is such an easy look for a night out and will definitely change your regular smokey eyes makeup for going out. Let me know if you guys like it, cause I definitely have been sporting this look for quite a few times now!

Seventeen 17 Cheek Stamp

Now on to my most fave purchase in my beauty haul… the Seventeen 17 Cheek Stamp! Oh i was just so excited to try these out for spring/summer! Basically, they are powder blushes pan in a deep plastic tube-tub kinda like that has a twist spring on-off cover sponge applicator that you can use to apply by stamping the blush on your cheeks and it also comes with a small round mirror at the end of the blush tube.

Cream Concealers

Hi, guys! Its been a while since i wrote a review and now i finally had a chance. Anyways, lets get started!

As you guys might not know yet, i can never live without a concealer to cover my hideous dark under eyes. It is such a task to cover them and i really would dive in into anything that would be easier for me to cover them. I find cream concealers easy to cover but they crease like crazy. So in order for me to set it, i tap a little bit of transparent powder. But dont get me wrong, they would still crease a bit but all i do is just lightly dab my fingers and its okay.

Makeup Look #11: Brown Smokey Eyes

Its the weekend! Oh i love Saturdays! I just want to do a quick post of my makeup look today. This is my version of brown smokey eyes. I really, really love this look for dates and nightouts, especially for instant glamorous look. And i just feel this would go well with my army green & black military outfit. Makeup Look #10: Blushing Pink Cheeks

Ive been googling my way to find a light makeup look inspiration that would make me just look effortless and pretty despite summer heat. And i stumbled upon Lisa Elridge’s Pink Flush Minimal Makeup Look and i just have to watch it. She looks so pretty and its so easy to do! I love her and her tutorials, its just so amazing! Here’s the link to her tutorial. I need to tweak it a little bit to suit my features. I have all the products ive used below.

I went for a dewy base and added some colors on my lids cause i just couldnt go bare with it! Lol. This is great if youre in a hurry and so flattering for most girls.

Ill be so wearing this quite a lot on summer. Let me know if you guys liked it!

Makeup Look #09: Purple Lips

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Despite the summer heat here in Singapore, it amazingly rained last Saturday! I thank the heavens for it cause it was scorching hot recently. So to add oomph my white-grey-black outfit and the perfect excuse for my new purple matte lip cream, i hopped on to youtube and watch one of my fave makeup artist, Lisa Elridge.

She has this tutorial about “how to wear dark lips” and she used a purple lipstick which of course looks absolutely gorgeous and just so classy and not grungy at all. I dont wanna look too made up and grunge and Lisa’s look is just so perfect! You can watch the tutorial here.

March 2014 Favorites!

Its almost the end of March! And i just thought maybe i should do a March favorites post of the makeup products ive been loving a lot this month!

First of is the Seventeen 17 Solo Eyeshadow in Funfair which is a pretty peach pink with gold glitter that leans more on the pink side. I got this one last December and I havent properly worn them just this month. Get it here.

Next is still on the peachy pink glitter combo, Topshop Blusher in Do It Again, it was recently released here in Singapore and i just had to pick it up when i saw it. It is a good Nars Orgams blusher dupe (ill do a proper review on this one!) that is just perfect for summer! Get it here.

Rimmel London ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige is a nice beige metallic shade that is good for a quick eyeshadow base or highlighter or brightening tightliner. Get it here.

Seventeen 17 Va Va Voom Mascara in Blackest Black is one of my first discoveries of this brand when i bought it last year. I super love the packaging! It comes in a big fat wand that creates length on the few coats and amps up the lashes as you coat some more. Just be careful when you layer it, or else itll get too thick! Get it here.

Chanel Levres Scintillantes in 85 Muscat is a lovely champagne colored lip gloss that i got as gift from my friend, Jasmine. Its one of the few lip glosses that i learned to love cause its not really super sticky, keeps my lips hydrated and the color is just perfect for the pretty girl look or sexy siren in smokey eyes. Im not sure if this is still available, but for sure Chanel made something similar to it. Amazon seller here.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in #5 Ole Flamingo is what i have been raving about on my previous blog. Definitely should try out this shade cause its absolutely stunning and the pigmentation is just amazing! Join the waiting list!

Seventeen 17 Skin Wow Primer is another product that i have made a review with and just enjoying it this season. I have been experimenting on it by mixing it with my foundation for a brightening glow and so far i like it! Get it here.

Catrice Limited Edition Eve in Bloom Loose Moisturizing Highlighter in C01 Bloomynous is certainly not the least among all my favorites! Its a beautiful, finely milled loose light pink power with silver tiny glitter that is a good final touch for that added “glow from within” beauty. I love, love, love this one! And it was very cheap! Costs only S$10.90 from Guardian but unfortunately they dont have this anymore since it was part of their previous collection. See it here

Finally, Jessica Custom Nail Color in 522 Bikini Blue is my current go to Spring Summer nail color that ive been wearing a lot lately. I got it from a nail polish shop in Hong Kong. Amazon seller here.

Makeup Look #8: Matte Hot Pink Lips

Happy Saturday, everyone!
I have been wearing the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lately and im so in love with it! I did a review of it in my previous post and after using it for a few days, i can tell that it has great staying power. My normal day starts by 7am and have my makeup done by 8am. I would then have my latte or my fruit smoothie with a breakfast bar then by lunch i would have some salad or soup and would normally retouch each time i eat. But then, around 4pm i remembered to check if my lip color is still on… Amazingly, yes! It has stayed on with a good color and kept my lips moisturized and not dry. I was so impressed! I recommend this product but then i still have to try it if this one can survive some kissing with my man. Its just best to try, right? After all, men and lipstick are completely different concepts! This is yet to prove me that its not a fact. Ill let you all know!

Right! On to the look! Since im pairing it with a bright hot pink, i want my eyes not to look overpowering and my skin just radiant and glowing. As some of us know, having a bright lip color can also draw attention to the other parts of the face, which is your dark under eyes and some redness.

So what ive done is i made my skin glowing with my fave Urban Decay Weightless Foundation and camouflaged my gruesome under eyes with heavy duty concealer. I kept my eyes simple and shimmering with Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige. I love this for fast eye shadow color or base or a brightening tightliner. You can also use NYX jumbo pencil or Maybelline Color Tattoos that has a similar consistency. Then i lined my eyes ever so closely to my eyelashes. No flicks needed! Just to make my lashes look thicker and loaded my lashes with mascara. I then did a little bit of bronzing and made my skin glow with a luminous shimmering powder ive been loving from Catrice.

Makeup Look #6: The Fresh Bright Lips

Hi everyone!
Its midweek and thank God, I had a chance to post one look that I wore just recently. As I promised myself that I would be wearing my lipsticks more often so I can try more lipsticks in my future purchases. This one ive used in this look is a budget buy lipstick from Topshop that can either look a bit nude when worn with dark eyes or a bit bright when worn with just nude flattering eye makeup. I got mine last year when I was in England for £6 and certainly went ogling for what ive saved. Haha! Another bargain buy that i have never mentioned before is this liquid eyeliner from the Philippines from the local brand called Nichido. Oh my god, it is my holy grail with liquid eyeliners. It comes in a small tube with a precise, fine felt brush tip that soaks in the small tube and is super handy to carry around, and costs only U$1!!! How cheap is that? Ive been using it for 2 years now and it was recommended to me by a friend. Each time i fly to Manila, i would always buy like 4 pieces of this. Ive tested it through thick and thin, and it has never failed me. Dries up super fast, doesnt irritate my eyes, and dont smudge even after a long night out clubbing.

Makeup Look #5: Light Nude Eyes with Soft Pink Lips #2

Hi guys! As you all saw in my previous makeup look post, i have now done something similar to this one but mostly different makeup products and application that you guys can use. In this look, i used the popular contouring application that Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist do to her, wherein you use 2 kinds of foundation, a lighter shade for highlighting, a darker shade for contours and your normal shade for blending them all together. As for my version, since i dont have a lighter foundation shade, i used my liquid highlighter layered over my normal foundation for highlighting. And i still went on applying on the darker shade foundation under my cheekbones, around my hairline and a bit on the sides of my nose then i blended them all together with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and my normal foundation shade. Ive written down all that ive used, both makeup and brushes, so you all can refer! Hope you all can find this one useful!
